Can’t miss this Friday’s FIRST FRIDAY at Yawn’s Bookstore!

Be sure to stop by Yawn’s Bookstore during First Friday Sept. 7 to meet Christine Orenic-Ward, author of “Silent No More,” and Christine Shearer, author of “Who Am I?” Both authors will be featuring their books at the store for discussion and purchase.

“Silent No More”Sometimes the only way to break the cycle of abuse is to break your own silence. Christine Ward suffered with depression, anger, hopelessness, despair and much confusion most of her life. She was diagnosed at a young age with bi-polar disorder and faced homelessness, mental hospital stays, dysfunctional relationships and multiple suicide attempts. When she moved away from her hometown, she thought she would have a chance to start over, but her new husband’s abusive behavior soon left her trapped in familiar, debilitating mindsets. This inspiring story of a woman’s struggle to make sense of her past and create a better future for herself and her daughter will offer readers insight into the generational curse of abuse and give them hope that it can be broken. She has finally come to the realization that knowing and acknowledging the truth is what actually sets you free!

“Who Am I?”Have you ever asked the question “Who am I?” Many individuals will confront the issue of “Who Am I?” at some point during their lifetime. An individual without knowledge of his true identity will wander aimlessly through life. A person who is not sure of their true identity can be identified as someone being like a “ship without a sail.” They do not know who they are, where they came from, or where they are going. To answer the question “Who am I?” requires that we know our origin, our purpose, and our future.

First Friday is an event that features a Block Party, Car Show, Live Music, Food and Good Times the first Friday of every month in the Historic Downtown Canton Loop. The event runs from 6-9 p.m.
